SARS COV-2 (COVID-19) Awareness Training
Online
Who should take this training?
This training is designed for laboratory personnel handling materials that might contain SARS-CoV-2 virus and/or genetic material. Researchers working with inactivated virus, extracted nucleic acids, amplicons, plasmid clones, and synthetic genetic elements need to take this agent-specific training.
- Researchers working with materials that might contain live virus, such as human source materials, patient samples, diagnostic specimens, or environmental samples must take either Biosafety Overview for Processing COVID-19 Patient Samples - Tufts University or Biosafety Overview for Processing COVID-19 Patient Samples - Tufts Medical Center, both of which also include this SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19) Awareness Training.
- Tufts University researchers that are working with live virus at BSL3 should take the NE-RBL - General BSL3 Training and Agent Awareness Training for SARS-CoV-2, which also includes this SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19) Awareness Training.
Training Description
This is an online training that can be accessed via the Tufts Learning Center. The training content includes: virology & epidemiology of highly pathogenic coronaviruses; known clinical features of coronaviruses; preventing laboratory exposures; and exposure response. There are questions embedded in the module, and completion of the entire module and obtaining a passing score on the questions is required to receive credit for the training.
