Emergencies

It is imperative that all emergencies or criminal activity are immediately reported to the Tufts University Police Department (TUPD). TUPD is staffed 24 hours/day, 7days/week and can be reached at: 617-627-6911.

Examples of emergencies include but are not limited to:

  • fires (call 911)
  • water leaks
  • hazardous spills
  • medical issues (stroke, heart attack, loss of consciousness, etc.)

It is critical that basic information is provided to assure the appropriate response personnel are quickly dispatched. Basic information includes:

  1. Your name and phone number
  2. Exact location of emergency
  3. Description of emergency
  4. Extent of injury if any
  5. Type of chemical if a spill has occurred

While communicating with TUPD it is important to be aware of your surroundings and assure your safety is not compromised. Remain on the phone unless directed otherwise by TUPD.
