Tess Gannaway, DVM is a PhD student in the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. A veterinarian by training, she is interested in the role that gender plays in zoonotic disease dynamics particularly at the intersection of animal, environmental and human health (One Health). Research projects in which she is currently involved include the SheVax+ project in East Africa, an action based research initiative aimed at empowering female livestock keepers through livestock vaccines, and Sex, Gender & COVID-19, a project looking at the role that sex and gender play in COVID-19 susceptibility, impacts and consequences in the Boston, MA area.
