Martin is senior director for TTIC. He is also responsible for identifying, evaluating, marketing, and commercializing early-stage technologies. Major areas of focus include engineering, tissue engineering, biomaterials, medical devices, nanotechnology, clean energy, and computer science. Martin has negotiated hundreds of collaboration, sponsored research, option, and license agreements and has also facilitated the formation of dozens of start-up companies. Prior to joining Tufts in 2000, Martin was a licensing associate at Harvard University’s technology transfer office. Martin is a graduate of Harvard University having majored in physics and minored in East Asian studies. He has been an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers since 1996 and the Licensing Executives Society since 2002. Martin became a Certified Licensing Professional upon establishment of the designation in 2008.
