John is a senior associate director in the TTIC, where he is primarily responsible for inventions from the life sciences. In this capacity he manages all aspects of the technology transfer process from faculty outreach to evaluation of invention disclosures, marketing, negotiation, and agreements. He has concluded a wide range of licenses, sponsored research, and collaboration agreements; actively facilitated formation of numerous start-up companies; and managed relationships with licensees and industry partners. John started his career in technology transfer at the University of Ottawa, as its first full-time technology transfer professional, and has worked in a start-up company. John has an undergraduate degree in biology, an MSc in molecular biology, and an MBA from Queen's University in Canada. John has earned the Certified Licensing Professional designation.
