3D Printing and Prototype Lab

Tufts 3D Printing and Protype Lab is for researchers looking to design and print items who do not have the knowledge or resources to design, and 3D print. The Lab offers clients access to the fastest growing rapid prototype techniques available.

Using Industry standard SLA Printers, CMS 3D printing offers solutions to problems big and small.  Some examples include:

  • Instrument modifications
  • Storage optimizations
  • Discontinued parts
  • Animal restrainers
  • Cannulas

For projects requiring dynamic or durable plastics PPS is able to print using a variety of plastics including, but not limited to:

  • Polyethylene terephthalate glycol
  • Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene
  • Thermoplastic polyurethane
  • Polypropylene
  • Polycarbonate
  • Polylactic acid
  • Nylon

From concepts to prototypes, clients will be charged depending on how much they are able to initially produce.  If they come with just an idea, they will be charged a design rate and print charge.  If they have the file and just need the item to be printed, they will be charged a one-time setup fee and the material charges.
