Expired IRB Approval

A study may have a lapse in approval if the continuing review application is not received by the submission deadline. Once the approval period for a study has expired, the research must stop, unless the IRB finds that it is in the best interests of the subject(s) to continue participating in the research interventions. Enrollment of new subjects cannot occur after the expiration of IRB approval. You must notify the IRB in the event that you conduct research following a lapse in IRB approval.
