Guidance on OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Trainings

Federal law requires this training for employees whose duties put them at risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens (BBP). The trainings listed below meet the federal training requirement described in the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard: 29 CFR 1910.1030. Personnel must complete the training BEFORE they begin work that puts them at risk of BBP exposure.

There are several versions of BBP Training listed below. Each version has been tailored to a specific type of audience. Please read the description to determine which training best fits your job duties. If you are not sure which training to take, contact the Biosafety Office at biosafety@tufts.edu.

Note: Please plan to take this training during normal business hours: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, and contact the Biosafety Office if you have questions during the training.

Federal law requires that a knowledgeable expert is available to answer questions about the information in the BBP Training. The Biosafety Office staff is available to answer questions during normal business hours.
