BioRaft/ChemTracker
As of summer 2020, Tufts University has changed its procedure regarding the input and maintenance of its chemical inventory process in research laboratories, teaching laboratories, and centralized facilities. The Chemical Safety Group is now providing support on a new chemical inventory management system called ChemTracker, a module on the BioRaft Platform, and implementing a color-coded barcoding system to keep track of all chemicals across the Boston, Medford, and Grafton campuses with a particular emphasis on high hazard chemicals and those covered under federal, state, and local regulations. It is a federal requirement that all institutions have an up-to-date and accurate chemical inventory per the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).
