Q: What is AAHRPP?
The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP) is an independent, non-profit accrediting body that uses a voluntary, peer-driven, educational model to ensure that human research protection programs (HRPPs) meet rigorous standards for quality and protection.

Q: What is the AAHRPP site visit?
A: The Tufts Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) was accredited by AAHRPP for the first time in 2017 and was awarded full accreditation for 3 years. We are now due for reaccreditation. The site visit will determine whether we are reaccredited for another 5 years.

Q: How will the AAHRPP site visit take place?
A: The site visit will take place virtually over Zoom.

Q: Do I have to do anything to prepare?
A: We will be posting tips and training over the next few months to help you prepare for the upcoming AAHRPP site visit. If you participate in human subjects research at Tufts, you could be selected to be interviewed during the visit. If you are selected, we will let you know about 3 weeks prior to the visit and help you prepare.
