The winner of the pizza party is Kirsten from the Kritzer lab!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey! We appreciate all the feedback. We are currently analyzing the data from the survey and composing answers to questions that we received in the written feedback. We plan to have the information ready to post in December, so please stay tuned!

Mission Statement

The Biosafety Office is apart of the Research Compliance unit within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR), and is here to be a resource to the research and teaching communities at Tufts University and Tufts Medical Center. Our primary mission is to empower students, faculty, and staff to understand the risks associated with their work and to assist them in implementing the appropriate safety measures to mitigate those risks. Ultimately, our goal is to maintain a healthy and productive work environment.

We work closely with the Institutional Biosafety Committees and the Environmental Health and Safety Offices at Tufts University and Tufts Medical Center to ensure that any work associated with biohazards and/or recombinant/synthetic nucleic acids is done safely and in accordance with the NIH Guidelines and federal, state, and local regulations.

Our website is under construction, so please be patient and check back occasionally for updated information, resources, and links.

For any questions, please contact the Biosafety Office at biosafety@tufts.edu
