Dear All,

Happy Monday!

I am writing to let you know that a clarification has been posted on our website with regard to collaborative proposals (where parts of a project reside in different units at Tufts) to describe the threshold of funded effort for 12-months versus 9-months appointments when a child/scope account is required. Please see this page: https://viceprovost.tufts.edu/RAD/proposal/preparing-a-proposal/collaborative-proposals-across-tufts-units/ under #6. A revised #6 is below, with the newly added language highlighted. There are no other changes in this guidance.A child/scope account is always required if any of the following is true:

A. Annual funded effort is greater than 5% (0.6 calendar months for investigators on 12-months appointments; 0.45 calendar months for faculty on 9-months appointments)
B. Materials, supplies, or any other direct non-labor expenses are budgeted.

All the best,
Zoya
