Dear Colleagues,

Please note the following NIH, NSF, and Tufts updates:

  1. NIH/AHRQ/NIOSH issued an update to the Policy on Post-Submission Materials (NOT-OD-19-083). Post-submission materials are those submitted after submission of the grant application but prior to initial peer review. Click on the link to read full notice. Some of the changes include:
  • For Training Grant (T series) applications submitted for due dates on or after May 25, 2019, a list of publications up to three pages in length will be accepted as post-submission materials. This replaces the former one-page limit for the post-submission publication list.
  • Preprints and Other Interim Research Products are not accepted as post-submission materials because they do not represent unforeseen events.

The revised NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG), (NSF 19-1) was issued and will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after February 25, 2019.  A summary of changes is provided in the Introduction section of the PAPPG.

  1. Tufts update: Clarification is posted to the Subrecipient Monitoring webpage regarding the responsibilities of the LRAs. The updated language is as follows:

“LRAs monitor receipt of progress/programmatic reports or other deliverables for timeliness and are responsible for alerting their Pre-Award point of contact timely of any performance, financial, or other issues related to an existing subaward. Certain issues may prompt Pre-Award to add additional terms to the subaward via an amendment.”

  1. Forms for adding new Sponsor and new Subcontractor in RAS have been revised to include Pre-Award Research Administration Coordinators Brandon Milby and Jeff Cosier as backup when Jordan Wilkinson is out of the office.

All the best,
