In this series, OVPR staff and research administrators from Tufts schools and centers have an informal discussion with an investigator to learn more about their work, helping us to gain insight into their research.
About the PI
Dr. Vandervelde is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, with adjunct appointments in Physics and Mechanical Engineering. His research group is the Renewable Energy and Applied Photonics Labs and he is the director of the Tufts Epitaxial Core Facility, the Tufts Interdisciplinary Advanced Materials Center and the new Materials Science and Engineering graduate degree programs. His research focuses on the interaction of light with matter with a specialization in the infrared portion of the spectrum.
