Tufts University and Tufts Medical Center staff are partnering to roll out a new electronic submission system for both IRB offices. IRB staff and institutional leadership will be working with the IRB Committee members, and the research community over the next year to ready the system for our use. As part of the system, researchers will upload a study protocol for both exempt and non-exempt applications. Starting January 21st (in concurrence with the updated Common Rule effective date) we will be accepting only this new protocol. Until this time, we will accept new submissions on either the new protocol template and cover sheet, or the pre-2019 application documents, although we encourage you to submit on this new template!
Any application approved prior to January 2019 (all applications submitted on the old forms) must continue to use the pre-2019 application documents for all modifications and continuing reviews. Please contact the IRB office with any questions.
For all new studies, please use the following application and cover sheet and submit directly to SBER@Tufts.edu.
