The Office of Research Development provides online resources for graduate students that can help you find funding, plan for, and prepare your proposal.

Materials available to graduate students include downloadable documents, funding links, and resources via our social media accounts:

  • Outlines and Checklists: Our office has developed outlines and checklists for NIH R01 proposals and standard NSF investigator-initiated research proposals as guides for preparation of required sections. You can also find downloadable resources on our Checklists page to facilitate delegation of tasks within a grant application and setting of internal deadlines for completion of each section.
  • Templates: Downloadable templates are available on our Templates page for the sections in the following list. Each template uses examples and detailed instructions.
    • Biographical sketches (NIH and NSF)
    • NIH facilities and major equipment pages
  • Additional Resources and Grant FAQs: A curated list of links to assist in developing and submitting proposals is available in the FAQs section. There are specific links to both NIH and NSF proposals, as well as to general grantsmanship advice.
  • Twitter: The Office of Research Development maintains a twitter account @TuftsORD. We regularly post links to grant-related resources, information, and critical agency announcements, focusing primarily on NSF and NIH.
