The Office of the Vice Provost for Research, in coordination with the HNRCA in Boston/Grafton and the Schools of Arts and Sciences and Engineering in Medford, is conducting a series of workshops entitled Applicants and Administrators Pre-award Luncheon Series (AAPLS). These workshops will be brown bag lunch events from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, unless otherwise noted. AAPLS is open to all investigators and administrators at Tufts who are engaged in preparation and submission of proposals for sponsored funding. New and early stage investigators are especially encouraged to attend; however, established researchers and administrators well versed in pre-award policies will also benefit.
Our goal is to promote face to face interactions between investigators who receive research funding and administrators who assist in obtaining external research support. Participants will receive information about internal and external resources for all elements of pre-award grant submission and will be encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions. The content of each session is tailored to the specific needs of the campus on which it is being presented.
Although the design of the program allows for attending any number of separate sessions, we encourage participation in the entire program. Doing so will provide a comprehensive view of the pre-award administration and research policies at Tufts, as well as of the existing resources available for preparing a complete and compliant grant application. This toolkit will assist attendees in tackling the complex and varied issues surrounding proposal preparation and submission.
All faculty and administrators are invited to attend all sessions, and there is no need to RSVP. If you have questions about the program, please feel free to contact the course directors at firstname.lastname@example.org.
