Blueprint Medicines is seeking a versatile, collaborative, and independent investigator to lead the biology research on a dynamic, cross-functional drug discovery project team that includes disciplines such as research, translational medicine and clinical development. The successful candidate will keep abreast of current literature and develop novel concepts to advance the biological understanding of kinase targets and small molecule inhibitors in the context of advancing drug discovery and clinical stage programs. This candidate is also expected to independently design, execute and interpret experiments, as well as manage external collaborations. This position offers the opportunity to impact a growing portfolio of targeted therapy programs in a fast-paced and innovative research environment.

  • Employ a breadth of cell and molecular biology techniques to explore the function and mechanism of action of specific kinase drug targets and their inhibitors
  • Evaluate and generate preclinical data to advance clinical stage kinase inhibitors, such as rational drug combination or indication expansion opportunities
  • Develop and test new biological hypotheses based on emerging nonclinical and clinical results
  • Establish relationships with external collaborators to extend internal biology capabilities
  • Regularly present research to the integrated project team highlighting implications for broader program
  • Mentorship of junior biology group members

  • D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant post-doctoral experience in either an academic or biopharmaceutical setting. Candidates with additional basic and translational research experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants should have a record of success in problem solving and mechanistic biology as demonstrated by publications in high quality peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in the field of oncology or cancer immunotherapy is desirable
  • The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-functional interactions and collaboration with others

Blueprint Medicines’ mission is to dramatically improve the lives of patients with genomically defined diseases. Our singular focus is to use our deep understanding of the genetic blueprint of cancer and other diseases driven by the abnormal activation of kinases to craft highly selective medicines aimed at eradicating these diseases. We are driven by the pursuit of new ideas, new innovations, and new ways of thinking. We believe we are at our best as a company when our employees are thriving and foster a culture that provides opportunities to grow and develop professionally, while also having fun.
