Workshops:

  1. Defining and Assessing the Impact of the Educational Elements of your CAREER proposal
Presented by Edward Morgan, Associate Director for Learning Assessment at Tufts Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT)

Will meet on either January 25th or January 27th – Register and indicate your availability by completing this Doodle poll by Thursday 1/12

Description: CAREER proposal reviewers consider the intellectual merit and broader impact of both education and research plans, including how you plan to assess educational impact. The first step in crafting a persuasive assessment for your education plan is to clearly define your objectives for student learning. Even if you are just beginning to formulate your plans, or if you already have an initial idea, this workshop will help you formulate measurable learning objectives for your proposed education activities. We will also discuss how to align assignments or assessments, and other measures of impact with your learning objectives over the course of your project, and at its completion.

  1. Workshop: Education Plan Objectives and Assessment – Review and Revision
Presented by Edward Morgan, Associate Director for Learning Assessment at Tufts Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT)

March, TBA

Description: This session will provide an opportunity to workshop the draft of your education objectives and assessment plan with Dr. Morgan and other NSF CAREER applicants.

  1. Mock Review of Overview and Objectives

Description: In this small-group session, an informal review of participants’ Overview and Objectives sections roughly simulates discussion by NSF review panel. Submit a 1- to 2-page Overview and Objectives section several days in advance and receive feedback during the mock review from Tufts faculty who have reviewed CAREER Award applications for NSF.

Two sessions – register for one or both:

April, TBA

June, TBA
