The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), is mandated by federal and local ordinances that regulate recombinant DNA research. The IBC oversees all recombinant DNA research in the university. All research, sponsored or unsponsored, involving rDNA or biohazards must be reviewed and approved by the IBC. In addition, the IBC provides assistance in the broader area of biological safety practices. Faculty and staff requesting information or having concerns about biohazards should contact the IBC Chair or Manager.
For further biosafety information, please see the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) website.
